AI-CCORE News
A Public AI Event Is Coming to Omaha on June 5. Here Is What You Need to Know.
AI-CCORE is opening the doors on a full day of applied AI, community conversation, and a public exhibit that does not pack up when the lights go off. It is free. No tech background required.

OMAHA, Neb. If you have been hearing about artificial intelligence everywhere and still feel like nobody has sat down to explain what it actually means for your job, your doctor, or your bank account, June 5 might be the day that changes.
The University of Nebraska Omaha's AI Center for Collaborative Outreach, Research and Education, known as AI-CCORE, is hosting MAV AI Day at the Barbara Weitz Community Engagement Center. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It is free. No background in technology is required to attend.
The forum brings together industry partners, researchers, healthcare professionals and members of the public for a full day built around three areas where AI is already making decisions that affect everyday life: health, finance and responsible AI. Town hall sessions in the afternoon are designed as open conversations, not lectures, meaning attendees can ask the people building and deploying these systems directly.
What Is Actually Happening That Day
The morning opens with the AI Project Gallery at 11 AM, where attendees can walk the floor, meet the builders behind real applied AI projects and see the work up close. A networking lunch follows at noon before the town halls begin at 1 p.m., covering AI in health and AI in finance.
A keynote address, panel discussion and certificate ceremony are scheduled for 2:30 PM
At 3:30 p.m., something opens that has not been open before. UNO AI-CCORE's permanent community AI exhibit launches for the first time, featuring four interactive stations covering art, ethics, AI history and an AI Maker Arena. The exhibit does not close when the day ends. It stays.
MAV AI Day also serves as the official public launch of AI-CCORE as a regional collaboration hub for Nebraska, with a focus on finance, responsible AI and health. The event is led by Dr. Mahadevan Subramaniam, Director of AI-CCORE and Chair of the Computer Science Department at UNO's College of Information Science and Technology.
