About the day

MAV AI Day is an in person forum on artificial intelligence and its applications. Industry partners, researchers, and community leaders gather for keynotes, panels, live demos, and the inauguration of UNO AI-CCORE's permanent AI exhibit. Newcomer or practitioner, you are welcome. Bring your questions.

AI + Health

Research, clinical practice, and patient outcomes in an AI augmented era. Town Hall session at 1:00 PM.

AI + Finance

Decisioning, risk, and the new operating model for financial institutions. Town Hall session at 1:00 PM.

Live demos & exhibit

Project gallery in the morning, extended AI Exhibit in the afternoon. Hands on time with the robots and partner teams.

MAV AI Day inaugurates AI-CCORE's permanent AI exhibit for the UNO community. Four stations, open every gallery hour.

Art

Generative models meet the studio. Composition, voice, and craft alongside AI. Featuring Unitree G1, our bipedal humanoid research platform.

Ethics

The trade-offs no one can opt out of. Frameworks, dilemmas, and policy. Featuring Reachy Mini, the expressive social robot.

Timeline

From perceptrons to agents. The arc of AI through the moments that mattered. Featuring Misty II, the programmable companion robot.

AI Maker Arena

Hands-on with the platforms AI-CCORE builds on. The active hub of the exhibit, where the demos run and the programmers are happy to answer questions.

Dr. Mahadevan Subramaniam (Subu)

Dr. Mahadevan Subramaniam (Subu) is Chair of the Computer Science Department at UNO and Director of AI-CCORE. He leads AI research at the Intelligent Modeling, Simulation, and Testing Laboratory. Previously, he worked in Silicon Valley on compiler design and at NASA Ames Research Center.

Dr. Victor Winter

  • Professor, Department of Computer Science

Dr. Winter is a full professor at the University of Nebraska Omaha and previously worked at Sandia National Laboratories, focusing on software correctness. Since ChatGPT's launch in November 2022, he has become a sought-after speaker on Generative AI.
